Blind Spot up for four Canadian Screen Awards

The Canadian Screen Awards announced their nominations for 2016 yesterday and we are very pleased to announce that Blind Spot; Moments Unseen is up for four of the coveted golden statues.

Blind Spot is an absolutely beautiful film, and the companion website and interactive documentary we produced with Criollo Films and Documentary, was one of our favourite projects last year.

The film received nominations in the following categories:

  • Best Original Music for a Non-Fiction Program
  • Best Photography in a Documentary Program
  • Best Picture Editing in a Documentary Program
  • Best Sound in a Non-Fiction Program

Unfortunately we didn’t get a nomination in the digital categories (the film’s director, Stefan Morel, said “we were robbed” :). Oh well, there were a lot of strong contenders in the digital categories this year and we want to congratulate all of the nominees, especially our friends at the NFB. We especially want to congratulate, Stefan, the film’s producers, Leslie Haller and Heather Marshall, director of photography, Kris Belchevski, and the incredible band, Whitehorse, whose haunting soundtrack we absolutely love. Good luck!

The winners will be announced beginning March 12 and the Canadian Screen Awards gala awards show, hosted by Norm Macdonald, will air March 13 on CBC television.

In the meantime check out the film’s trailer below, then visit the website and interactive story we created with Stefan and his team for Documentary.
